There are many people who believe that the only goal of weight loss is to lose the actual weight. Although it’s definitely one of the goals of the journey, there are many other factors that come into play. Aside from losing inches, you improve your health, your cardio, you metabolism, and your blood pressure.

All these little factors aren’t always taken into consideration though, which is why I want you to weight a minute before getting yourself into the journey; I want you to know all the benefits that weight loss can have on your body, because sometimes losing inches isn’t motivation enough. There will be times in your weight loss journey where there will be obstacles, therefore it’s important to go back and look at all the benefits that come when you get on the journey. Being aware of all the benefits, other than weight loss, will give you the necessary motivation to get over the mental obstacles you will encounter on the journey.

  • Losing Inches: obviously, the first benefit of weight loss is getting smaller in inches. The clothes will start fitting better, and you’ll get to have dozens of shopping sprees every time you get smaller.
  • Flushed Skin: losing weight means losing the toxins stuck in your body and in turn losing the toxins found in your skin. As you lose more and more weight, you will see your skin changing for the better; there will be some kind of glow that will come with every scale number you lose, it will be amazing.
  • Improves Cardio: exercise is essential in order to lose weight, whether you want to or not. Eating clean is a great part of the journey, yes, but exercising is the cherry on top that makes it all happen. By exercising, you improve your cardio level, which means that your heart will be healthier as well. Your heart will grow stronger as you progress in your journey, which can help support you as you grow older.
  • Speeds Metabolism: as you lose weight, exercise, and eat clean, your metabolism will start speeding up. This means that the food breakdown process will speed up in your body, which will allow you to not only eat more food, but lose weight while enjoying the food. A speedy metabolism breaks down the fat faster and feeds the muscles before storing the fat, which is why you get to eat more without necessarily gaining weight!
  • Improves Blood Pressure: as your cardio and metabolism improves, it will help maintain a healthy blood pressure level in your body as the oxygen distribution becomes regular and normal with every pound you lose.

As you can see, losing weight is more than just losing inches. Be aware though that getting smaller in inches will not magically solve all your problems; they will simply fix you weight problems. Losing weight affects your body, both inside and outside, but other life problems will have to be fixed with a positive attitude and great determination.
